Kirsan?s Sweeping Victory in FIDE Presidential Election in Turin.

June 2nd, 2006 in the evening Kirsan Ilyumzhinov and his ticket polled the majority of votes of General Assembly Delegates in FIDE Presidential Election in Turin. The votes of the Delegates distributed as follows: 96 votes for Kirsan Ilyumzhinov and 54 votes for his opponent Bessel Kok.

The representatives of the lost party were among the first to congratulate Kirsan on the victory. In his complimentary speech to the Delegates Kirsan told that he will definitely consider certain points of ?The Right Move? Election programme in his future work and that he is determined to cooperate with the members of Mr. Kok?s team thereafter.

In his speech to the Delegates Kirsan said in particular: ?There are no ideal leaders as well as there are no ideal people. But chess for me is not just my occupation and my hobby. Chess is my passion and my life?.
